Shawn is an outstanding Guide with tremendous patience. I’ve only been flyfishing for about 5 years, but learned more in one day about fly fishing for native brookies than the previous five years. Shawn shares knowledge freely, offers real-time feedback to improve techniques, and is VERY knowledgeable. In addition to fishing, he also prepared an awesome lunch complete with local craft beer. In short, I highly recommend Shawn if you’re interested in fly fishing for native brook trout. You WILL catch fish.

Brief “shout out” to Maine Fly Co . for recommending Shawn!

If you’re coming to Maine to fish, hike, eat, drink, WHATEVER - Shawn is your guy. A Mainer born and raised, who freely and considerately shares his local knowledge to anyone who asks. I was recommended by Jeff at Maine Fly Company to book Shawn for time on the water. “He can pull fish from puddles!” per Jeff. And I can now officially attest to this. Fly fishing is Shawn’s passion, and you quickly understand that, as he pours years of wisdom, technique, and strategy into you, while remaining humble, patient, and optimistic. While other guides canceled on their clients due to recent inclement weather and flooding, Shawn pivoted and still got me out on the water and into some fish. Cannot say enough about this guy personally or professionally. I will be back!

Booked 1/2 day trip on the Kennebec. Had a great time. Very accommodating and knowledgeable. You literally don’t have to bring anything, unless you want to fish with your own gear. Would highly recommend to my friends and family.
